Estrogen and Testosterone Pellets, Bioidentical Hormone Therapy, Bio Therapy, Hammond Hormone Therapy, Mandeville, New Orleans, pellets, estrogen pellets, testosterone pellets, bio-identical, implantable, Baton Rouge, Slidell Hormone Therapy, Hammon…

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy: Estrogen and Testosterone Pellets

The “Cadillac” of Hormone Therapy – implantable Estrogen and Testosterone Pellets. We offer testosterone and estrogen pellet insertions in the office to patients from Baton Rouge, Hammond, Covington, New Orleans, Mandeville, and Slidell areas. An extremely effective form of bio-identical hormone therapy is subdermal pellets made from estradiol or testosterone.  This is in our opinion the best form of HRT and it almost always works when other methods have failed. For women who are having difficult menopause transitions due to problems with absorption, marked fluctuations in hormone levels or who have lost their ovaries surgically at a young age (perhaps due to endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease), hormones in this form can restore a quality of life and function which has been lost.  Economically, this is more efficient than multiple medical visits, time lost from work, or the suffering of severe menopausal symptoms such as disturbed sleep, depression, anxiety, fatigue, muscle aches, hot flashes, etc.

Urinary Inconstinence: Normal, Stress, Urge, Overflow at Mooney and Berry Gynecologists in Hammond, LA. Gyn in Hammond, Louisiana.

Urinary Incontinence Testing

Urinary incontinence is the loss of voluntary bladder control that can cause leakage of urine. It can be temporary or last for a long time.

There are four types of long-term or permanent incontinence:

  • Stress incontinence—Most common type. Leakage occurs when there is extra pressure on the bladder. Triggers may include laughing, sneezing, lifting heavy objects, or exercise.

  • Urge incontinence—Known as overactive bladder, a loss of bladder control following a strong urge to urinate. The bladder is unable to hold urine long enough to make it to a restroom.

  • Overflow incontinence—The bladder will not empty, so urine builds up and the bladder overflows.

  • Functional incontinence—There is normal bladder control, but the toilet cannot be reached in time.

People may have just one or a combination of these types. For a more detailed explanation, click here.

3D and 4D Ultrasounds at Mooney and Berry Gynecologists in Hammond, LA. Gyn in Hammond, Louisiana.

Pregnancy Confirmation and Ultrasound

Like regular ultrasounds, 3D and 4D ultrasounds use sound waves to create an image of your baby in your womb. What's different is that 3D ultrasounds create a three-dimensional image of your baby, while 4D ultrasounds create a live video effect, like a movie -- you can watch your baby smile or yawn.

Parents often want 3D and 4D ultrasounds. They let you see your baby's face for the first time. Some doctors like 3D and 4D ultrasounds because they can show certain birth defects, such as cleft palate, that might not show up on a standard ultrasound. Studies suggest that 3D and 4D ultrasounds are safe. We offer gender scans starting at 17 weeks and 4D ultrasounds between 28-30 weeks.

The best news? There is no referral needed to get one of these procedures and can be a great gift to you and your loved ones! Uniquely available at our office!

Gynecological Ultrasound at Mooney and Berry Gynecologists in Hammond, LA. Gyn in Hammond, Louisiana.

Gynecological Ultrasound

A pelvic ultrasound allows quick visualization of the female pelvic organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes and ovaries.

A pelvic ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic exam that produces images that are used to assess organs and structures within the female pelvis. A pelvic ultrasound allows quick visualization of the female pelvic organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes and ovaries.

Ultrasound uses a transducer that sends out ultrasound waves at a frequency too high to be heard. The ultrasound transducer is placed on the skin, and the ultrasound waves move through the body to the organs and structures within. The sound waves bounce off the organs like an echo and return to the transducer. The transducer processes the reflected waves, which are then converted by a computer into an image of the organs or tissues being examined.

Ovarian Cancer Screening Tests at Mooney and Berry Gynecologists in Hammond, LA. Gyn in Hammond, Louisiana.

Ovarian Cancer Ultrasound Screening

Ovarian Cancer Screening Tests. A number of tests have been evaluated as potential methods of screening for ovarian cancer. Screening tests with the greatest amount of clinical test data supporting their use include transvaginal ultrasound and the blood test for the serum marker CA-125. Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer in women and the most common cause of gynecologic cancer deaths. In 2008, about 22,000 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer, with approximately 15,500 women dying from the disease. Approximately one in 70 women will develop ovarian cancer in her lifetime.

While the most common recognized risk factor associated with the disease is advancing age, other factors contributing to an increased risk of the disease include infertility, endometriosis (a condition in which tissue from the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus), and post-menopausal hormone replacement therapy.

Menopausal Symptoms and Treatment Options at Mooney and Berry Gynecologists in Hammond, LA. Gyn in Hammond, Louisiana.

Treatment of Menopausal Symptoms

There are a number of different treatment options to consider if menopause is disrupting your life. The most common symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, mood problems, trouble sleeping, and vaginal dryness.

Menopause is the end of a woman's menstrual cycle and fertility. It happens when:

  • Your ovaries no longer make estrogen and progesterone, two hormones needed for fertility.

  • Your periods have stopped for 1 year.

Menopause happens naturally with age. But it can also stem from surgery, treatment of a disease, or an illness. In these cases it can be called induced menopause, surgical menopause, or primary ovarian insufficiency, depending on the cause.
